Yet another bump in the road to “Late Nights: The
Album”.
Jeremih’s upcoming Late Nights: The Album,
originally slated for release in early 2013, just can’t
make it off the shelf. The Chicago singer has blamed
label problems as well as personal issues for the
brutal delay of his third studio album, and, now,
there’s more drama on his doorstep–involving the
artwork to the album’s lead single, “Don’t Tell ‘Em”.
“Don’t Tell ‘Em”, produced by DJ Mustard and
featuring a red-hot YG, came out last summer, hit #6
on the charts, and was a staple in the club for the
remainder of the year. The woman who appears on
the single’s black-and-white cover–shushing us with
her index finger to her lip, though, says Jeremih used
her picture without permission.
According to The Jasmine Brand, the model, Louise
Ram, and her photographer, Alexander Flemming,
have now filed a federal lawsuit against Def Jam and
Universal Music Group, claiming Jeremih stole their
copyrighted picture. What’s more, apparently
Jeremih removed the original watermark on the
image when he used it as his own on “Don’t Tell ‘Em”.
Sadly, this means the Late Nights wait continues.
